Why Go Insurance

Travel Insurance Your Clients Will Actually Thank You For

Most travel insurance is a race to the bottom: cheapest price, thinnest cover, offshore call centres and a claims process designed to wear people down. Go Insurance was built to be the opposite. As a Lloyd’s coverholder with binding authority, we design our own products, make our own underwriting decisions and handle our own claims – so when your client needs an answer, they get one from the people who issued the policy.

For your business, that means fewer awkward conversations, fewer declined clients and a travel insurance partner your reputation is safe with. You recommend us once; your clients come back on their own.

The Go Difference

Six Reasons to Make Go Your Travel Insurance Partner

Everything below is standard for every Go Insurance partner – no tiers, no minimum volumes to unlock support.

Security

Backed by Lloyd’s

Go Insurance is a Lloyd’s coverholder with binding authority. Every policy carries the security of the world’s leading specialist insurance market – a name your clients already trust, and a strength few NZ travel insurance brands can match.

Claims

Claims Handled In-House

No outsourced claims farms. Claims are managed by our own team, so your clients deal directly with the people who issued their policy – and you’re never stuck apologising for a third party. See how we handle claims support when it matters.

Support

Real People, 24/7 Emergency Assistance

Your clients speak to real people across Australasia on a New Zealand freephone – 0800 082 647 – with 24/7 emergency assistance on +64 9 918 2505 wherever in the world they are. Full details on our contact and emergency assistance page.

Revenue

Commission on Every Policy

You earn commission on every policy written through your business – leisure, group or corporate. Travel insurance stops being an afterthought and becomes a reliable revenue line you control.

Technology

Quote and Issue Online, Instantly

Our online portal lets you quote, bind and issue policies in minutes, with the Certificate of Insurance delivered straight to your client. No paperwork shuffles, no waiting on an underwriter to get back to you.

Flexibility

Products That Flex to Your Clients

Binding authority means we’re not stuck reselling someone else’s rigid product. Unusual itinerary, unusual activity, unusual client? Talk to us – our answer starts at “how do we make this work”, not “computer says no”.

Hard-to-Place Travellers

We Say Yes Where Others Say No

Every travel business knows the clients who get turned away everywhere else. They’re the reason Go exists. We cover:

Travellers who have already left New Zealand and need cover mid-trip
One-way travellers and clients relocating overseas
Long-duration trips – itineraries most insurers won’t touch
Pre-existing medical conditions, with a genuine assessment process rather than a blanket decline
Adventurous activities and unusual itineraries, subject to the Policy Wording
What It Means for You

Stop Saying “Sorry, We Can’t Help”

Every declined client is a booking that walks out the door – and often takes the rest of their travel spend with them. Partnering with Go means the difficult cases become business you can actually write.

Your consultants close more sales, your clients stay in your ecosystem, and your business earns commission on travellers your competitors simply cannot serve. That’s the pitch – and it’s one no mainstream travel insurer in New Zealand can copy easily.

Products That Set You Apart

Cover Your Clients Won’t Find Elsewhere

These are the products that turn a quote conversation into a “where do I sign” conversation – the standouts of the Go Insurance New Zealand range.

War & Armed Conflict

Cover That Doesn’t Stop When the News Starts

Go policies include automatic medical and personal accident cover where a new and unexpected war or armed conflict breaks out during your client’s trip – protection most policies switch off exactly when it’s needed. Subject to the Policy Wording and War Endorsement terms.

Cancel For Your Reason

Go Ultra with CFYR

Go Ultra offers Cancel For Your Reason cover – so your client can cancel for personal reasons that standard cancellation cover would never touch. A powerful close for premium bookings and nervous travellers, subject to the Go Ultra Policy Wording.

Group Travel

Group Travel Insurance

Sports teams, school trips, clubs and tour groups covered on one policy, with one Certificate of Insurance and none of the admin of insuring every traveller separately. If you organise group travel, this is the product that keeps it simple – and keeps the whole booking with you.

Destination Weddings

Destination Wedding Insurance

Rings, wedding attire, celebrant fees, the lot – specialist protection for wedding-specific items and costs that ordinary travel insurance ignores. If you book destination weddings, this cover sells itself alongside every package.

Common Questions

Becoming a Go Insurance Partner – Frequently Asked Questions

The questions travel businesses, brokers and advisers ask us most about partnering with Go Insurance New Zealand.

What is the difference between a distributor and a TOBA?

A distributor is a travel business – such as a travel agency or tour operator – that sells Go Insurance policies directly to its clients. A TOBA (Terms of Business Agreement) is the arrangement we offer general insurance brokers and financial advisers who place travel cover with Go on behalf of their clients. If you sell travel, apply as a distributor; if you advise on insurance, request a TOBA.

My agency already offers Go Insurance – do I still need to apply?

No – if your agency already offers Go Insurance, you’re an agent rather than a new distributor. Complete the agent registration form ↗ and we’ll set up your own login for the quoting portal under your agency’s existing agreement.

Do I need a licence to distribute Go Insurance in New Zealand?

The requirements depend on how your business operates and how you intend to distribute cover. As part of the application process, our team will discuss your setup with you and confirm what applies to your situation before anything is signed.

How do I earn money as a Go Insurance distributor?

You earn commission on every policy written through your business. Commission arrangements are confirmed in your distributor agreement or TOBA during onboarding, so you know exactly where you stand before you write your first policy.

What makes Go Insurance different from other travel insurers?

Go is a Lloyd’s coverholder with binding authority, which means we design our own products, make our own underwriting decisions and handle claims in-house. We specialise in the travellers other insurers decline – already overseas, one-way, long-stay, pre-existing medical conditions – and offer products like Cancel For Your Reason, Dental Tourism and Destination Wedding cover that are hard to find anywhere else in New Zealand.

Who handles claims for my clients?

We do – claims are handled by Go’s own in-house claims team, not an outsourced administrator, and our 24/7 emergency assistance team is available on +64 9 918 2505 whenever your clients need urgent help. You can read more on our claims support page.
