Am I covered if I ride a motorbike overseas?

Yes, provided that you meet the following criteria:

Use of a two-wheeled or three-wheeled motor vehicle (including but not limited to Motorcycles, Mopeds and Scooters, whether petrol, electric or otherwise powered) during the Trip, unless:

IF YOU ARE THE DRIVER:

  1. You wear a helmet at all times, regardless of local law;
  2. You wear enclosed footwear and clothing that provides reasonable skin coverage (e.g. no bare feet or swimsuits);
  3. You hold a current Australian motorcycle licence valid for the same class of bike (if riding a Motorcycle);
  4. You hold a current Australian driver’s licence (if riding a Scooter or Moped where no motorcycle licence is required);
  5. You hold a valid licence for the country in which the vehicle is being operated;
  6. The engine capacity does not exceed 250cc for Motorcycles and 200cc for Scooters or Mopeds; and
  7. If electric powered, the vehicle has a maximum speed or is speed limited to 25km/h or less.

IF YOU ARE THE PASSENGER:

  1. You wear a helmet at all times, regardless of local law;
  2. You wear enclosed footwear and clothing that provides reasonable skin coverage (e.g. no bare feet or swimsuits);
  3. The driver meets all requirements outlined above.
